Year 4472 Post Calamity

Month Flamecrest

Day 10

At Cogman's behest, I have resumed my daily journals. I think he fears that this old windbag will drop off on him and he won’t be prepared. I have news for you, ya bucket o’ bolts. You’ve been ready for a decade at least. Well, here it goes, let me start with the party, me wee lads.

I’ll start with the party's little squishy, “Yung Joka.” God, I hate that name. His name is Kadariuos, a fine name given to him by his parents, God rest their souls. They were two of the finest spellcasters I ever adventured with. If you're out there looking down, know he is turning into a fine wizard, and even though he is a little squishy, I promise to keep him safe as always. I know he is a strong young man, but my stated mission is to keep them all safe and secure, no matter what.

Zakren, now there is someone who thinks they need to make up for some unknown self-imposed deficiency. He follows his God of Justice just fine; I don’t understand why he has a need to make up for something he didn’t do. It's a shame to see him torture himself for being who he is. As an orphan of the great celestial war, I’m not sure if he is Celestial or Demonic in origin, not that it matters; he’s a good boy, and I’m proud of him. I just wish he’d tone it down a bit.

Traelors, the one I worry about the most, they say the quiet ones are the ones to look out for, and he holds to that saying. He is the one I know the least about. Finding him in the woods as a baby leaves me unsure of his origin, but he has been a noble lad and a good advocate for the wilderness as far as I can see. I also think he is the little bastard who took me brownies. Oh well, he can have them, I think the sneaking is a little irritating though, damn he is good at it, if he can get past me he’ll be fine without me in the future.

Last but not least is Avon, the biggest pain in the ass I raised since me first born, Sinclair. I miss that boy, I hope he is truly in a better place with all of his brothers and sisters… Anyways, Avon had it tough being a Tiefling and all. The other children used to pick on him so. His sarcasm is his best defense mechanism; he could have gone down a path of violence, but he chose magic instead. His patron has me worried, though. I have seen what an angry patron can do to their warlock if they don’t do as they say. It may come down to me vs. his patron one day; I hope I can take him.

Well, that's enough for now. I really hope that these boys turn out with better fortunes than me own children, that damned war took them all from me, maybe they can fill the void that was left by those fecking Angels and Demons. I don’t trust anyone not from this plane of existence; they all have an agenda, which usually means they pay with the blood of the innocent from this plane. I hope I live long enough to see these boys truly free from a threat they don’t know about.

Ok Cogman, I hope I rambled on enough for ya. I’ve got to get back to the group and get a little shut-eye before I start breakfast. I’ll bake another batch of brownies with the Goodberry spell on them, I can’t wait to have the strength and materials to cast “Hero’s Feast” one day, maybe on Thanksgiving, he-he, and this time I’ll put a Glyph of Warding on them brownies, perhaps a web spell, to trip up my quiet but hungry Ranger…
